Windy Hill Rod & Gun Club and the Randy Barnes Family hosted a benefit Duck Hunt, on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Padgett Pond and on Barnes Family lands along Clouds Creek. This area contains a 20-acre lake and several miles of beaver ponds which have been planted to attract ducks.
Proceeds from the hunt will help fund the preservation of the historic Marsh-Johnson House, which is in need of major repair.

One of the major goals of the Society is the preservation of the history of Saluda County. This house is an excellent example of an “upland plantation home.”
The Saluda County Historical Society wishes to thank Gene Berry and the Randy Barnes Family for helping restore the Marsh-Johnson House which is noted on the 1817 Mills Atlas Map of Edgefield District, before there was a Saluda County.

Members of the Saluda County Historical Society provided a mega-breakfast after the morning hunt.

As always, participants in the hunt abided by all the rules of the Hunt Club, the State of South Carolina, and the U. S. Government. Alcohol beverages were not permitted during the hunts.
